EXCHANGE STRUCTURE

The course provides students critical understanding of marketing skills in China: creation of value for Chinese consumers and firms, and the strategies and methods marketers use to successfully operate in current dynamic environment in China.

The course helps students to understand and identify the key issues, including economic system, monetary, trade, environmental protection, public services, rural, individual behavior and other areas, in development and transition of Chinese economy through analyzing the current and future economic development situation in China.

The course examines the technical, economic, political and social environments of Asian countries. The cultural and historical factors leading to these conditions. Their government-business tie-up and management systems.

The course aims to analyse international monetary relations and problems. Major areas of discussion include basic concepts and analysis of the balance of payments, the foreign exchange market, determination of spot and forward exchange rates, international capital flows, the payments adjustment mechanism, international monetary problems and arrangements, and international debt and its development.

The course objective is to develop students’ ability to identify problems of companies, investigate company performance, and work out company strategies in a global business context. The course provides students a discipline of global business and a foundation for becoming top leaders in the next Asian business scene.

The course provides a comprehensive overview of the contemporary Japanese economy, focusing on the economic performance, changing characteristics and the future challenges. The class discussions include comparison between the Japanese economy and the Chinese economy. Students will study basic concepts and analytical tools of economics which are applied to the Japanese economy, and will learn how they are useful in understanding the real world affairs.
